Andia Chakava is a graduate of York University in Canada where she obtained an honors degree in Economics and she holds a Master of Business Administration degree with merit from Cass Business School London.
She joined the KWH board in June 2013. She is an independent investment professional and at only 30 years of age was the co-founder of Alpha Africa Asset Managers where she previously served as Managing Director. She served until May 2010 as the Managing Director of Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIG). She was also one of the first female fund managers of a non family business in the region.She is the current chair of New Faces New Voices (Kenya Chapter), which is a Pan Africa advocacy group spearheaded, by Graca Machel. It focuses on growing the number and visibility of women in leadership and decision-making positions in the financial sector.
Ms. Chakava is also a Non-Executive Director of East Africa Educational Publishers, the largest indigenous publishing house in Sub Saharan Africa.
